Between new signatories, new ambitions and new journeys, the Fenêtres Bois 21 quality charter experienced a 2025 filled with meetings and various events. An opportunity to look back at the latest Technical Days in the Angers region, and to outline the major developments of the label over the past year.

The latest Fenêtres Bois 21 Technical Days brought together more than 120 joinery professionals in the Pays de la Loire region in autumn 2025. Between workshop visits, market analysis and strategic outlooks, these two days offered a dense programme that confirms the vitality of a demanding and structured sector. Beyond the friendly atmosphere—always present—these moments serve as a cohesion tool for the Fenêtres Bois 21 network. They make it possible to compare practices, identify areas for improvement, and share feedback on markets that can sometimes vary significantly depending on the region. The 2025 edition kicked off in Maine-et-Loire (49), with half-group visits to two neighbouring companies belonging to the Ateliers de France group: Ateliers Perrault, in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Plaine, and the Thareaut joinery, in Saint-Laurent-du-Mottay.

Ateliers Perrault: heritage as DNA

Founded in 1760, Ateliers Perrault embodies one of the oldest French names in the field of built heritage restoration. Established for over two centuries near Angers, the family-owned company has gradually broadened its scope of expertise, from woodworking to metalworking, in order to meet the requirements of historic monuments. With 17,000 m² of buildings and around 200 employees, including 26 apprentices, the company now operates across three main activities: timber framing, windows, and joinery/cabinetmaking. The high proportion of skilled craftsmen has always reflected an organisation focused on knowledge transfer and excellence in craftsmanship. Present on many landmark projects in France and internationally, Ateliers Perrault steps in whenever a project requires specific expertise and a fine command of traditional techniques. Restoration is approached there as both an engineering and cultural act, combining respect for existing structures with the integration of modern solutions adapted to current constraints.

Thareaut Joinery: between heritage and performance

For the second visit of the day, participants discovered the world of Thareaut Joinery. Founded in 1749, it claims nearly three centuries of know-how in the manufacture of traditional openings. Remaining within the family for eight generations before joining the Ateliers de France group, the company is still located in its original village, situated between Angers and Cholet.

It specialises in the production of custom-made wooden windows and exterior doors, and relies on a 6,000 m² production site that was fully renovated between 2018 and 2020. While the machinery park ensures precision and repeatability, many operations remain manual, requiring highly skilled labour for unique creations. This complementarity between industrial processes and artisanal finishing forms the foundation of the company’s model, which regularly works on listed buildings or those with high heritage value.

Vincent Delmas Joinery: focusing on BtoB

After an evening event, the group headed to Indre-et-Loire, on the edge of Maine-et-Loire, to visit Vincent Delmas Joinery (LMVD). Initially dedicated to exterior wood joinery when it was created in 1988, the company made a structural shift towards window manufacturing in the early 1990s. At the same time, LMVD strategically repositioned itself by choosing to work exclusively with building professionals. Becoming a manufacturer-supplier for joinery products mainly located in Indre-et-Loire and Vienne, the company consolidated a BtoB model focused on industrial control and proximity. This orientation led to a gradual increase in production capacity: occupation of a second site in the early 2000s, consolidation of activities in 2005, followed by nearly €600,000 invested between 2005 and 2011 in modernising industrial equipment with the acquisition of CNC machining centres. With around twenty employees and a turnover exceeding €2 million, LMVD is now considering expanding its facilities to include finishing services (painting, staining, varnishing). The goal: to deliver ready-to-install products and support evolving market expectations… A great challenge ahead.

Thus concluded these two days with a packed programme, allowing joiners and partners to meet in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. The next edition is already scheduled for autumn 2026 in Auvergne, with visits to Sedec, Defix and Genevrier joineries. Interested parties take note.

A general meeting between caution and collective momentum

The 2025 events concluded at the beginning of December with the label’s general meeting, held in Paris at the national FFB headquarters under the chairmanship of Cédric Goepfert and vice-chairmanship of Matthieu Mimey. The economic review, which was highly anticipated, showed limited visibility for 2026. Nevertheless, signatories continue to display relative optimism:

the wooden window sector appears to be more resilient than other materials, particularly compared to PVC and especially aluminium;
a report from the monitoring committee, held a few weeks earlier, was presented in detail. Regarding societal requirements (OPP BTP) and environmental requirements (ESTEANA), all signatories have ultimately achieved compliance;

the leaders of the working groups (communication, environment, development) then presented their work, including the introduction of a future tool for searching window and French window ranges based on design and performance criteria… To be continued.

A rapidly expanding label

Three new signatories joined the Fenêtres Bois 21 quality charter in the first half of 2025: Jung, Bourneuf and Genevrier joinery companies.
Four more joined in the second half of the year:

Feugas Joinery in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, with one range “PERF-MAX-PRO 58 or 68” certified on October 21, 2025;
Rion Joinery in Haute-Savoie, with one range “PIC BOIS 80” certified on October 17, 2025;
Moreau Joinery in Indre, with two ranges: “68/78 Recouvrement” and “68 FA MGL” certified on December 11, 2025;
Lempereur Joinery in the Ardennes, with one range “68 Jeu de 12/92 Jeu de 12” certified on December 4, 2025.

As Leul no longer manufactures its certified range, it is no longer a signatory of the Fenêtres Bois 21 label. This brings the total number of signatory companies to 41. Several prospects engaged in the process are expected to join the label during 2026.
